From Dreams to Reality
sTEP 1
A complimentary 30 minute consultation - with this initial client meeting, we are introduced to each other and the problems that need to be addressed through our services. Meeting at your home or job site is ideal as we can easily walk through the areas in need of improvement. This meeting provides the scope of the work you would like done and we can write a contract delineating the project and fees involved to accomplish the drawings needed for the builder and town approvals.
sTEP 2
Contract signing and detailed interview - in this meeting the contract will be signed and we will start the plans to change your life! We will listen to you and your needs and ask what you love. This is important and propels the entire job! Clients provide magazine clippings, website images, vacation photos, elements of the house they grew up in, a favorite painting, an artwork they created… Anything is possible to let me know what it is that you love.
sTEP 3
Design drawings - we will field measure and photograph existing conditions and create scaled cad drawings. We will need to have you give us a property survey so the zoning restrictions can be studied. At this point, designing can start. The problems will be addressed and there’s usually more than one solution. We will present your drawings and discuss with you our solutions. Your input and suggestions will be discussed. At this point, a bill will be given.
STEP 4
Construction documents - after revising the drawings for any changes and fine-tuning, you will give approval and we will produce the construction documents. At this point, an engineer will design the structure and we will complete the construction documents which may include scaled plans, elevations, window/door schedules, sections, electrical plans, details and interior elevations. At this point signed and sealed drawings for your town building department and builder sets are given. At this point, a bill is given.
STEP 5
Construction administration - this is an optional service.
